Counter Strike New Revealed
After weeks of rumors, Valve has finally revealed Counter Strike new. It's a major upgrade to CS:GO that will bring it onto the Source 2 engine.
It also includes responsive smoke grenades and sub-tick updates for servers. It's made a lot armchair gamers scream but it's actually an upgrade for the average player.
Smokes
Counter Strike New is getting an overhaul that will fundamentally alter the method of using smokes in the game. The new changes are being referred to as responsive smokes and are a huge game changer. Smokes will now expand to fill in spaces naturally and then move around objects on the map. They will also respond to the lighting in the game, which will make them appear more attractive and realistic. In addition to these new features, smokes will now be capable of interacting with gameplay events, which will open up new tactical opportunities. For instance, bullets could force smoke to briefly make clear sightlines, while Hex grenade explosions will disperse smoke occlusion.
The biggest change to smokes is that they will be a more dynamic element of the game. In the past, smokes were a fixed shape and was limited in the distance they could go and how much vision they blocked. However, the new smokes will expand to cover the space they're within and hinder the player's vision when they are in it. This is a major improvement that will make the game more exciting and provide both sides with the same view.
In addition to this smokes will also react to the surroundings as well as weaponry and lighting in the world space. This makes the smoke appear more realistic and allow players to use it in different ways to gain an advantage over their opponents. This is especially beneficial in the chaotic matches that will happen on every map.
Smokes will also no longer be one-way which was a major problem in CS:GO and allowed players to see their opponents' locations behind the smoke. Twistzz, a popular CS:GO professional, says the new system is a huge improvement for competitive CS2 and makes it fairer for both teams.
Other minor improvements include adjusting smoke particles vertically to reduce the impact of edges, and updating the spectator's smoke overlay images so that they match their camera's location. The expiration time of smokes was adjusted to match the visuals displayed on screen.
Loadouts
CS: GO players can now modify their weapon selection prior to the start of every match. The new loadout system lets players to select weapons that suit their playstyles and team strategies. The updated system also adds new tactical depth to the game, because players must balance power and utility.
The CS: GO Update includes several additional improvements and modifications in addition to the new loadouts. The buy menu was completely redesigned. The old buy wheel has been replaced by a customizable grid that shows all options for purchase simultaneously. The grid is comprised of five pistols and five "mid-tier weapons" such as submachine guns, shotguns and rifles.
The new system is simple to use and will give players more control over their weapon selection. It will let them choose the weapons which best suit their style of play, team tactics and try out various combinations. It also allows players to test their skills against other players' loadouts and see how they stack up.
Many players have praised the added flexibility, while some have criticized it for straying from the essence of Counter-Strike. They also have raised concerns about how it could affect the specific loadouts for maps and agent skins dependent on visibility.
In spite of these criticisms the new loadout method will be tested more thoroughly in the coming months. It is possible that some of these issues may be addressed in future updates, therefore it is important to stay tuned for more information.
In addition to the new CS: GO features, the latest update also includes Workshop Tools which can be turned on in the game's settings menu. These tools allow community contributors to design weapon finishes, stickers, and maps. Additionally the update will live ban players who violate the VAC rules during matches.
The new CS GO update will be released in the middle of summer. Players can browse the complete list of updates and features by visiting the official CS: GO website.
Sub-Tick Updates
The world of Counter-Strike is constantly updated by the server in discrete time increments called ticks. Valve wants to ensure that CS: GO is fast and smooth. The smallest delay can affect the accuracy of the shot. A new video reveals one of the game's most significant under-the-hood enhancements, also known as sub-tick updates.

Instead of a 64-tick-update each millisecond, CS:GO now uses sub-ticks or, as Valve calls them, "micro ticks", to communicate with servers. The client will keep track of each of tiny increments and then send them to the server. The server will then transmit the updated game's state back to players. The servers will now know exactly moment when you shot and jumped, swung and other inputs.
Although a minute-long video may not enough to explain everything, the video explains that every piece of information sent by a client has an associated time stamp. The server will gather all data from all players in chronological order before sending it back. According to the video, a CS: GO will be capable of sending twice the data as a 64-tick CS: GO.
This means that even if the tick rate of the game increased to 128 Hz, it will still be able to handle your commands immediately. Micro-tick updates can also reduce input lag, making sure that the server reacts to your actions without glitches or delays.
Valve's technological improvements to the game are just the beginning. The company employs particles and smoke that are dynamic to improve the way smoke interacts with its surroundings. It's upgrading all maps with high-resolution lighting, textures and models. All CS: GO cosmetics and weapons will be updated with Source 2 tools and features.
Maps
The coming update for Counter Strike New will bring new maps to the game, along with some old favorites that are being given facelifts. These updates are being tested in an unspecified beta. csgo cases includes upgrade and touchstone map which will not undergo major changes in gameplay, while other maps have been revamped or rebuilt using the brand new Source 2 Tools.
Among these, Overpass was redesigned to make use of the engine's new unified lighting system. The map's dark underground has been filled with daylight to make it more spacious and less overcrowded. Smoke grenades now expand dynamically in order to fill spaces, and interact with the light.
Italy is a different map that has been reworked. Its texture, lighting, and structure have all been greatly improved. The new version is more balanced than its predecessor, which was heavily CT-sided. In the near future, fans can expect to see classics like Aztec and Militia redesigned.
While many of these maps are playable in other modes, they're not being added to the map pool for competitive play. Train is an exception since it was removed from Active Duty but will still be played in tournaments. Valve has not yet confirmed whether the other maps that were removed from the pool will be added back.
One of the more controversial updates is one designed by Helsingin Sanomat, Finland's national newspaper. The news agency has been a vocal critic of Russia's actions in Ukraine and the map takes inspiration from the city devastated by war, Donetsk. The map is called de_voyna, and it contains a number of references to the conflict.
The developer will release a collection of Source 2 Tools for map makers in the future. This will include features such as improved lighting and character reading, as well as a physically-based rendering system which produces realistic materials and textures. It will also help in the implementation of real-world items, such as doors and windows. The update is expected to release sometime this summer.
